arth Day is an annual event that helps demonstrate the importance of environmental protection. More than 1 billion people across 193 countries participate in it to spread awareness and help shape a better future. At SANI, we’re no different—and want to help however we can.
By design, our company aims to eliminate single-use plastic from hygiene products globally. Our first one—a smart hand sanitizer—is based on large cartridges and reusable personal bottles. The idea here is to not only provide an alternative employee benefit for innovative companies but also help those organizations become even more forward-thinking.
Earth Day is a perfect example of how we can all come together under one flag. The Paris Agreement has been, in fact, signed on this very day in 2016. Last year, over 100 million people paid attention to 50th anniversary of the event—which until today is being referred to as the largest online mass mobilization in history.
In 2021, the theme of Earth Day is Restore Our Earth. It features five primary programs: The Canopy Project, Food and Environment, Climate Literacy, the Global Earth Challenge, and The Great Global CleanUp.
Earth Day’s global show will begin on 22nd of April at 12 PM Eastern Time. The audience can expect workshops, panel discussions, and special performances across several topics—from natural processes to emerging green technologies to citizen science. You can find comprehensive information about the festivities on earthday.org.
What’s worth remembering is that this is truly a year-round effort. Climate change doesn’t happen overnight and definitely won’t happen in a single day. Earth Day is primarily there to remind us that we have to care for ourselves, our peers, and our planet. We need a healthy environment in order to support our daily lives as much as we need the education to combat climate ignorance.
